A Successful Building Electrification Strategy Begins With The Windows (UPDATED)

RADIANT HEATING GLASS WILL SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASE ENERGY USAGE

  • Simply stated, windows are typically the source of significant heat loss in the building envelope

  • U-value is used to rate the heat loss of a window unit which includes the glass and the frame

  • U-value is measured in watts per metre-squared kelvin, or W/m2K and e energy is measured in watts

  • We measure the amount of energy (in Watts, or W) that travels through one square metre of a material (m2) per every 1 degree of temperature difference between inside and outside (K)

  • The lower the value, the better, as the goal is to minimize heat losses from a warm interior to a cold exterior

  • A zero value would be the Holy Grail of glass performance

Cold does not come through the glass into the room. The warm air and warmth from the interior surfaces radiates through the glass and causes the chilling effect. Newton's second law of thermodynamics states that heat travels from a hot object to a cold object.

IQ Radiant Glass is a specially designed IGU (insulated glass unit) that raises the interior surface of the glass higher than the ambient interior temperature, reversing the heat losses and thus driving the U-value to near zero.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: AI Systems to further magnify the performance of IQ Radiant Glass Systems: THE BUILDING ELECTRIFICATION WINDOW
